Smart product-service systems integrate digitalised components to offer a seamless customer experience that dynamically adapts to changing customer requirements. Currently, there are no comprehensive methods for developing such holistic digital systems that take into account the dynamics and structure of the associated business models. In our paper, we will examine some key considerations for the development of business models in smart product-service systems. First, the various types of business models that can be used in these systems will be discussed, followed by a discussion on systematic, IT-supported business model development.
